california league Originally Founded in 1945
The California League is an eight-team Minor League Baseball league that began operation in 1945. Last season, the California League was known as Low-A West, but was still comprised of the same eight teams after the Minor League Baseball realign- ment. The eight teams will be divided into two divisions, the North and South Division. Fresno will play in the North Division with Modesto, San Jose and Stockton. The South Division will have Inland Empire, Lake Elsinore, Rancho Cucamonga and Visalia.
